Your patient comes back to you.
I accept implant, full-arch and complex restorative referrals from general dental practitioners across the South West. Referring patients are returned to your care for all ongoing general and preventive treatment.
How referrals work
What I accept
- Single and multiple implant assessment and placement
- Full-arch implant rehabilitation, including failing dentitions
- Bone grafting and sinus augmentation where required
- Complex restorative and aesthetic cases, including worn dentitions
- Second opinions on treatment planning, with no obligation on either side
What you receive back
A written assessment and treatment plan after the first appointment, copied to you. A completion letter setting out exactly what was done, which components were used, and what maintenance the restoration requires. Radiographs and clinical photographs on request. And a clear statement of what falls to you and what falls to me at review.
Where restorative-only referral suits
If you place implants yourself and would like the restorative phase handled, or vice versa, that split works perfectly well. Tell me at referral which part you want to retain.
Teaching & mentoring
I teach photography, treatment planning and communication with Private Dental Mentor and RipeGlobal, and mentor colleagues developing their own implant and aesthetic practice. If you are placing your first implants, working towards more complex cases, or would simply like a second pair of eyes on a plan before you commit to it, that arrangement is often more useful than a straight referral, and I am happy to structure it either way. More on teaching and mentoring.
How to refer
Email the patient's details, a summary of the presenting problem and any relevant radiographs to assiststeve7@gmail.com, or use the form below. Steph, who manages my diary, will acknowledge your referral and arrange the consultation directly with the patient.
Urgent cases, a fractured implant, an acute infection, a failing provisional, say so in the subject line and they will be triaged accordingly.
Send a referral
Prefer paper or your practice software? Download the referral form (PDF), complete it and email it to assiststeve7@gmail.com. Either route reaches me the same day.
Background, for colleagues
BDS (Hons) King's College London. MSc in Dental Implantology, University of Bristol, where I remain an honorary member of the programme. Advanced Certificate in Full Mouth Oral Implant Rehabilitation and the Ultimate Full Arch Immediate Load Diploma. GDC 251055.
Surgically, my postgraduate training includes the Guided Bone Regeneration Masters course under Professor Daniel Buser and colleagues, PerioAcademy certification, and ridge augmentation and sinus work. I have received minor oral surgery referrals continuously since 2015, well past five hundred cases, and work regularly alongside sedationists, so intravenous or inhalation sedation can be arranged for anxious patients and longer surgical visits.
Restoratively, I trained with Spear Education in Arizona in facially generated treatment planning and functional occlusion, with Chris Orr in cosmetic and aesthetic restorative dentistry, with Jason Smithson in anterior and posterior ceramic preparation, and with Finlay Sutton in personalised complete dentures. Planning is digital throughout: intraoral scanning, digital smile design, and guided placement with printed stereolithographic surgical guides.
I am a member of the ITI and the ADI, and I teach dental photography, treatment planning and case presentation to foundation and general dentists for Health Education England, Gensmile Academy, Private Dental Mentor and RipeGlobal. A clinical portfolio for any specific case type is available on request.
I am a general dental practitioner with a postgraduate focus in implant dentistry, not a registered specialist. Where a case genuinely needs specialist care, I will say so and help you find the right person.
Start with a conversation
Every case begins with an unhurried consultation: a proper look, a proper listen, and a written plan you can take away and think about. There is never any pressure to proceed.
